Morgan.....

Miss Morgan...
i can see so much life in her in all the other moments we captured..
i found joy,
i found innocence,
i found simplistic childhood peace,
i found a girl who loves
each day,
each minute,
each breath she breaths....

but this image
i see when i close my eyes...
and it will probably stick with me for a long time.
THIS image is what i hope people see when i hold my baby girl.
THIS image is what i long for my baby girl to look like when i hold her....

in this moment
i see love
i see a mom whose pride and joy rests peacefully in her grasp.
i see a child secure and loved and without restraint or pain
i see a BOND of natural ease and love and trust and true nurturing.

i can see in morgans eyes and hands...
how she loves her moms arms to hold her
and how wonderful she feels right there...
i can see Stacey...
her joy and pride and amazement at how fast time has flown and how fabulous her baby is....
i see mother and daughter and mother and daughter
i see life
and the circle of life...
not only between morgan and her mom.. but between Stacey and hers...
full circle
lifes journey takes us places we cant imagine
in a time capsule that goes too slow and then too fast...
but full circle it comes and goes...

enjoy....

Reed and Riley Black

The twins! Riley is on the left and Reed on the right. I need to open the archives and find their newborn session..... I have really enjoyed watching these guys grow. They are 2 days older than my Mason so it really hits home when I see them looking like little boys and not babies...

These are from Mothers Day Out at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport. Beautiful children, beautiful day.... A BIG Thank you to Amy, Sheridan, and Debbie for a smooth week and lots of great smiles....
I am booking only a few school programs for summer and fall. If you are a Mothers Day Out or Preschool Director and would like me to come to your program, please contact me.

Paintings.... by me

Sometimes a photograph is too real. I know, that is the purpose... pure documentation... and most days I love photography for that reason. It is real! but sometimes...

it is too real.

Sometimes we want our memories to be what we remember feeling. We want it to be a fairy tale, storybook, our own Alice in Wonderland setting.

and it can be.

Besides writing in my blog, painting has become one of my favorite artistic outlets. In "painting land" I can take a photograph and create a fantasy. A dreamlike place of magic and smells and sounds and music.
The beach is the perfect example...
The beach is an incredible place to take kids.
We LOVE the surf, we love the sandcastles, we love the smell of the salt in the gentle breeze, and we love the sky blue sky. But sometimes my beach pictures remind me of how hot we were, how sticky the kids were, how wonderful the sand felt in every crack, and what a sun burnt three year old sounds like...... I am thrilled to paint all THOSE things away... and to have found again.. what I love about the beach... the memory I want to take with me from that wonderland..
in case you didn't know... I will paint your beach photographs for you too.... you can send me your beach snapshots from your vacations , or any snapshot of your historical filecabinet we call life... and we can create a heirloom for you too...

Aubrey

What's on the inside is what counts right? Isn't that what people always say?
Well sweet Aubrey not only is jaw dropping gorgeous on the outside... but spend some time with her and you will see.....
you will become mezmerized by what you find on the inside. You will be SO caught off guard by the maturity and love and kindness and fabulousness of this young teen.. that all that beauty on the outside will become just "the accessory" to the girl who shines like a shooting star from her heart.

Sam has arrived.....

perfect in every way. full of love. full of snuggle. full of joy to come.

I enjoyed meeting Sam and I know his sweet mama Nora is taking wonderful care of him....
Here is Sam... Sam at home...

Why haven't I been blogging?

BECAUSE IT ATE MY POST! AND I AM MAD!
About a week ago, I blogged about the trio below and after over an hour of writing... poof. IT was gone. And I have been mad and mad and mad and mad. And I decided to just boycot it period. It isn't like the blogging program even knew I was boycotting it. The blogging program probably didnt even miss lil ol me. And my week of protest and my "I'll show you" attitude.... probably will not keep Blogger from eating my posts again... but I do feel better..... So... back in the saddle I go... with words that have been stewing in my soul for days.....

What is a spark?

Meet this trio and you will know. Allie, Ryan, and Sophie....

From the moment I walked into their house, I felt at home. Everything about this family was incredible and wonderful. Their mom, Andrea, was a complete delight. We both belong to the "Mom of Three" club... so all it took was eye contact... she knew that I knew..... and no words needed..

What made this family different than others is the energy in the house! It made me think of the sparklers that we light when we do firecrackers... There were sparks of LIFE everywhere!! Bouncing from snapshot to snapshot on the walls like a ricochetting beam of light... sparks of love and family surrounded me. Sliding down the staircase banister and finishing with a flip in the air at the bottom... were the sparks of laughter. Bouncing on the couches and beds... were the sparks of joy and fun. I kid you not. This family loves life and each other. Their sparks were everywhere I turned.
Miss Allie was a joy to watch. Her eyes sparkled with fun and feisty... reminding me of my own little one...

Next, I was able to spend time with one sweet boy named Ryan. Of course, he stole my heart! Ryan LOVES his room! He is so happy there. He jumped right up on his bed and showed me the most genuine, honest to goodness, thrilled to be right where I am smile... I just wanted to bottle it up and capture it because it gave me Life Bumps... the goosebumps we get when life and the real reasons for life hit you in the heart when you aren't expecting it... his smile gave me life bumps...

I wanted to show his mom and dad this look, so that they would know, whatever they are doing.... is perfect. He is loved and KNOWS it.. he is confident in his room, in his world, in his life... HE is happy and loves being loved, and loves his family and loves everything that surrounds him. What an incredible boy!
and when he saw his collection.... and I KNEW what was next....

And then there were three.... Moms of Three will understand. The third little one does something to you. It mellows you out, it gives you perspective, that extra heart beat under your roof...it completes you, even when you felt complete before....

Some will argue that three children is an odd number, but to me and other moms of three... a Trio is the most magical even number in the world. Three creates a circle, a group, a bond that can't be split in half.... having three children also creates siblings that hold more love in their little hands than you can imagine...

Sophie is the baby of this family.. just a few weeks fresh from heaven. But MY GOODNESS! She behaved like a 4 month old! I think Allie has been working with her on How to Ham it Up for the camera...

I know you can see the sparks in their eyes... the spark of life, of joy, of love , of family, of independence, and happiness, and laughter, and home, the spark of creativity, and individuality, and the spark of fun and freedom. Well done Mom and Dad.... and thank you for this sneak peek into your life..... Keep creating Life Bumps.... it is hard work but worth every minute.
