Addie

WOW - Parenting.

Having this child that is part of you .. doing something on their own.

Your nerves are shot,
your tummy flopping in circles
... you want them to SOAR and FLY and LIVE LIFE!

but when they DO...
all by themselves...
you JUST get to watch.
And you hold your breath.
And you try NOT to let them know you are SICK with nerves FOR them.....
and then time STOPS and you can't breath
and you are SO PROUD
and you want to
STAND UP AND
SCREAM AND HOLLER AND
JUMP IN THE CHAIR and
CLAP ...
but you cant.
SO you sit in your seat.
and you watch.
and you hold your breath.
and you smile at her because you want her to know that YOU ARE THERE FOR HER.
You just watch... and you try not to cry , you try NOT to look around, you try not to sing with her ...

you just watch.
and it is wonderful.

i would love to share with you.. my sweet addie... her first solo.

Addie, all of your Texas relatives, especially GiGi and Aunt Pam, are so proud of the wonderful performance you gave. I remember when you were really little and would practice performing with a wooden spoon as a microphone. You are awesome! I played it for your mama's cousin Sarah while we were in VT for Christmas. I love you, Aunt Pam
